Receive weekly one-on-one instruction in the instrument.  The lesson will include computer music lab time to aid development in ear training, music theory, and sight-reading.  CM track available.

Note: Certificate of Merit (CM) Track (available Onsite or Offsite): Available to highly motivated students who wish to pursue Certificate of Merit testing and certification. Lessons are taught by CM-certified instructors. Prerequisites: Student and parent/guardian interview and audition. 45 min lesson required for Prep level and level I students. 1 hour lesson required for level II and up students. Please contact the school for additional details.

GROUP LESSONS (ONSITE, CUPERTINO SCHOOL)

Joyful Melodies Music Makers
Description: This parent/child music class is a fun, developmentally-appropriate, hands-on music and movement class for our youngest musicians.  Together, children and parents will participate in singing games, movement activities and instrument playing.  The class explores basic music concepts involving pitch, dynamics, tempo, rhythm and more.  Parent/caregiver participation is required.  Material Fee: $16.95 +Tax including book and CD
Age Group: Birth to 3 yrs old, Parents or guardians are required to participate in the class. 
Tuition: $225/ 12 classes, ($18.75/class), FREE one class try out
Instrument kits are available for purchase.

Little Mozart
Description: This is a fun, creative and developmentally-appropriate class for children to learn music through the Little Mozart curriculum.  Students will be introduced to music concepts, music symbols, musical instruments, famous composers, and much more.  Our playful lessons are taught through singing, playing instruments and movement activities.  Parent/caregiver participation is encouraged.
Age Group: 3 to 5, Parent participation is encouraged. 
Tuition: $225/3 months ($18.75/class), FREE for one class try out
Instrument kits are available for purchase.

Bilingual Chinese/ English Music Class
Description: This class will provide a fun and creative environment for children to explore music and learn Chinese through songs, rhymes, body movements, rhythm, flash cards, instrument playing, and more.  The class will be taught by a fluent Chinese speaker who will use both English and Chinese (Mandarin) to expose students to Chinese music, culture, and history.  Children with or without prior Chinese language exposure are welcome to attend.  Parent/caregiver participation is required. Material Fee: $15 including book and CD
Age Group: birth to 4
Parents or guardians are required to participate in the class. 
Tuition: $225/ 12 classes ($18.75/class), FREE one class try out
Lab fee: $15 for CD and song book.

Percussion Ensemble (Orff Music Class)
Description: Designed by German composers Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman, the Orff approach to music education combines children's participation in speech, singing, movement, body percussion and instrument playing (including unpitched and barred percussion, such as drums and xylophones) to teach music concepts (pitch, rhythm, form, etc.) in a developmentally-appropriate manner.  The course is good for the music student who would enjoy a creative music class that encourages children's ideas, compositions and improvisations.  This group music-making experience is great for beginners, as well as an excellent complement to private lessons. 
Age Group: K to 3rd Grade
Tuition: $300/12 classes ($25/class), $30 for one class try out

Group Keyboard Class
Description: Designed for students with limited or no music experience and those who are not ready for private piano lessons.  Students will learn basic piano technique, music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises and different music styles.  
Age: Group 4 to 8, Parent participation strongly encouraged.
Tuition: $300/12 classes ($25/class), $30 for one class try out

Group Guitar Class
Description: Do you or your child want to learn to play the guitar?  This introductory class is offered to students of all ages.  No experience necessary.  Students must bring their own acoustic or electric guitar.  Instruction on key guitar skills, including chords, progressions, and scales. 
 Age Group:
Youth: 6 to 12
Teen: 13 to18
Adult: 19+
Tuition: $300/12 classes ($25/class), $30 for one class try out

String Ensemble & Music Ensemble
Description: Students can pair up or group with any other instrument to form your own group (e.g., piano duets, piano and violin; string ensemble: violin, viola and cello).  This experience will motivate students to practice and most importantly, to have FUN playing together.  JM will group players together based on skill level and availability.  The class meets twice a month for one hour.  Students must enroll for a 3 month period. 
Open to all students who are currently taking private lessons on any instrument.
Tuition: $300/ 12 classes

Cupertino Studio Room Rental:

Our musical studios are available for rental. We have rooms of varying sizes to meet your musical needs, whether it be for practice, private lessons, or ensemble/group use. Our studios are equipped with Steinway or Boston acoustic pianos, Roland digital pianos, computer stations, and/or a full adult and child drum set.
